ALBANY, N.Y. (3/10/15)--The New York Credit Union Association has launched a state charter resource center on its website to assist its member credit unions with navigating legislative changes resulting from New York's enhanced state credit union charter.
The state's credit unions scored a major legislative victory last year when Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law Bill No. A09408, according to Monday's The Point, the association's daily newsletter.
Under the new law, state-chartered credit unions can combine select employer groups and associational and community groups into a single field of membership.
The new resource center aims to provide credit union leaders a better understanding of the state charter and how it compares with a federal charter, said the association. The resource center:
