COLUMBUS, Ohio (4/1/15)--The Ohio Credit Union League recently hosted a meeting with Robert Rutkowski, the new deputy superintendent of credit unions for the Ohio Division of Financial Institutions.
Rutkowski started at his position Feb. 23 and works with Charles Dolezal, Division of Financial Institutions superintendent, in regulating Ohio's state-chartered credit unions.
During the meeting with CEOs of state-chartered credit unions and league President Paul Mercer, the participants discussed the challenges and opportunities for strengthening the state credit union system in Ohio, including examination priorities, activities of the Credit Union Council, field-of-membership developments, National Credit Union Administration interaction and updates to the credit union section of the Ohio Revised Code (eLumination March 30).
In his opening remarks, the deputy superintendent noted the importance of the division's role to ensure the safety and soundness of state-chartered credit unions, and he pledged open, two-way communication between the division and credit unions.
Mercer commended Rutkowski for his early, strong outreach to the credit union community. He is scheduled to meet with the league's Government Affairs Committee this month and will address credit union leaders at InVest48, the league's annual conference, April 20-22.
