MARLBOROUGH, Mass. (2/17/15)--The Cooperative Credit Union Association has launched a statewide campaign in Rhode Island to recruit credit union participation in the association's governmental affairs committee.
The association seeks the wide perspective provided by local input on all areas of legislative and regulatory advocacy, association President Paul Gentile said (Daily CU Scan Feb. 12).
The governmental affairs committee met last week to discuss 2015 association goals for local advocacy and governance.
The group hopes to have as many credit union CEOs as possible join the committee, which will meet and provide insight to the association board on key local issues. The consensus at the meeting was also to ask participating CEOs to designate others from their credit unions to attend meetings in the event of scheduling conflicts so that a diverse representation of all credit unions can be achieved.
