Biz journal honors Coastal’s Purvis for achievement, impact

December 29, 2016

The Triangle Business Journal named Chuck Purvis, president/CEO of Coastal FCU, Raleigh, N.C., as its 2016 Businessperson of the Year.

The annual award recognizes individuals for business achievement and community impact. In naming Purvis, the regional publication cited his determination, management style, and commitment to employee engagement, along with the credit union’s successful loan growth and community involvement.

“At Coastal, we strive to put our members’ needs ahead of the numbers," Purvis said, noting the credit union’s philosophy of “We Share.”

Coastal's Bank Better campaign highlights the credit union’s values of community involvement, transparency, fair pricing and member service.

"That philosophy extends to our community service as well. Receiving this award acknowledges that we’re on the right path and I’m proud to be part of this effort," Purvis said.

The publication also has named Coastal as one of the “Best Places to Work in the Triangle.”
