June 19, 2017

With both chambers of Congress in session this week, CUNA is engaged with a number of hearings, including financial regulator testimony on fostering economic growth. Acting NCUA Chair J. Mark McWatters will represent NCUA at the hearing, which will also bring testimony from heads of the Federal Reserve board of governors, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and a representative of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors.

The Senate Banking Committee is conducting a series of hearing on ways to foster economic growth, and CUNA testified at the first hearing earlier this month.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. (ET) Thursday, and will be streamed live on the committee’s website.

Other hearings CUNA is engaged with this week include:

  • Wednesday 10 a.m. (ET): The House Financial Services Committee will continue its markup of pending flood insurance legislation; and
  • Wednesday 10:30 a.m. (ET): Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing titled “Cybersecurity Regulation Harmonization.”
