MADISON, Wis., and WASHINGTON (February 23, 2018) – The next CUNA Fair Lending Workshop has been announced for August 15-16, 2018, in San Diego.

“This workshop will give you the big picture of what credit unions need in a fair lending program, a sufficiently detailed perspective of the program components to work with and a suggested priority of what to do next,” said former attendee John N. Cook, vice president of lending at Redstone Federal Credit Union.

Led by industry experts, attorneys and regulatory compliance specialists, this program provides thorough analysis of the current regulatory climate and gives attendees an opportunity to practice their response to fair lending challenges.

“Regulators have recently begun to place a stronger emphasis on fair lending compliance,” said Kathy Smith, instructional design manager at CUNA. “This event will provide attendees with in-depth information regarding these requirements and exercises to help them learn the best compliance strategies for their credit unions.”

The workshop will be preceded on August 14 by the CUNA Mortgage Loan Originator Pre-Conference Workshop, a training session which satisfies the loan originator training requirement found in Regulation Z.
