Washington, DC (June 13, 2018) – Candidates backed by America's credit unions saw primary election victories in competitive races across five states, including key races in Nevada yesterday.

Rep. Mark Amodei (R) easily won 71% of the vote in the state’s 2nd Congressional District. Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC), CUNA’s federal political action committee, and the Nevada Credit Union League supported Amodei with partisan communications backing his bid.

Amodei and Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) were successful in adding an amendment to legislation (H.R. 3354) that would withhold NCUA from the appropriation process.

In Nevada's 4th Congressional District, former Rep. Steven Horsford (D) saw an easy win in his six-way Democratic primary with 62% of the vote. In a rematch of the 2014 race in the district, he will face former Rep. Crescent Hardy (R) for the seat currently occupied by the retiring Rep. Ruben Kiheun (D).

According to the Cook Political Report, the state's 2nd district is considered "Solid Republican" for November's election while the 4th district is rated "Likely Democratic"
