Latino CU Conference Teams Up With ACUC
The NLCUP conference will take place June 15-17.
The Network of Latino Credit Unions & Professionals’ (NLCUP) 7th Latino Credit Union Conference will be held in conjunction with CUNA’s 2012 America’s Credit Union Conference (ACUC) in San Diego.
The NLCUP conference will take place June 15-17, immediately before the ACUC (June 17-20). NLCUP conference attendees will receive a $200 discount off of ACUC registration.
NLCUP was created to expand the market share of credit unions serving Latino communities and to increase the participation of Latinos in the credit union movement. The NLCUP conference is designed to help Latino credit union professionals gain exposure in the larger credit union movement and forge connections between fellow Latino credit union leaders.
This year’s conference theme, “Creating Opportunity ~ Creando Oportunidad,” will feature renowned journalist, author, and performer Ruben Martinez and high-profile, nationally syndicated journalist Ruben Navarette, Jr.
The conference also will offer workshops and events in partnership with major system players. “Our goal is to help credit union leaders connect with the greater Latino community and raise awareness among the credit union community of the incredible opportunities that exist in serving the Hispanic market,” says Maria Martinez, NLCUP chairman. “The momentum-driving content and leadership focus of ACUC is a perfect match with our vision for a more vibrant Latino presence in the credit union movement.”
A strategic partnership between Coopera Consulting and CUNA helps credit unions reach out to the Hispanic market. For more information, visit cooperaconsulting.com.
