What’s the key to quickly growing membership and assets?

For Texas Trust Credit Union in Mansfield, a big part of the answer is offering greater convenience—in its mobile offerings and account management tools, as well as the accessibility of its branches and affiliated ATMs.

Its efforts to improve convenience helped Texas Trust expand its membership in 2012 by nearly one third to 54,526, increase its assets by nearly 4% to $747 million, and grow its lending portfolio by 24%.

“We’ve grown in part because of the trust our members place in us,” says Jim Minge, Texas Trust’s president/CEO.

Last year, the credit union launched a mobile app that allows members to access account information, check balances, view transaction history, transfer money between accounts, and search for any of the 43,000 ATMs in the All point surcharge-free network.

It also launched SwitchAgent, which helps new members move pre-authorized payments and deposits from their old accounts.

Texas Trust opened two branches last year, and purchased a 78,660-square-foot headquarters.
