MADISON, Wis. (5/4/15)--CUNA Councils announced the name change of the CUNA HR/TD Council to the CUNA HR & Organizational Development Council. The new name more closely unifies the members and their professional backgrounds with the intent of the group. The change is effective immediately.
“We wanted to recognize the scope of activities that human resource and training professionals use to address new circumstances and challenges,” said Robert Davis, senior vice president, human resources at VyStar CU, Jacksonville, Fla., and executive committee chair of the council. “Our name change reflects the extensive tools that credit unions utilize to acquire, serve and retain valuable employees.“
The council’s executive committee felt that organizational development was more descriptive than training, in that it covers a broader range--from functional or technical training and talent management to career or leadership development and succession planning, Davis said.
“A changing environment means our members will be required to use different approaches and resources to keep their credit unions competitive and proactive for future growth,” he added.
The CUNA HR & Organizational Development Council will continue to provide high quality resources such as white papers, scholarships, access to networking opportunities and an annual council conference.
