TOPEKA, Kan. (5/8/15)--Around nearly every corner in Kansas Thursday stood a credit union advocate, waiting to surprise community members as part of the latest edition of Kansas Credit Union Association’s (KCUA) “Make a Difference” events.
During these events, credit union representatives from throughout the state surprise random people with acts of kindness, such as providing free gas cards at gas stations, or paying for their lunches or coffees.
On Thursday, Kansas credit union advocates from 19 credit unions traveled to 18 different communities and handed out $32,000 in cash and prizes.
As always, the “what” and the “where” were kept secret to ensure the community members on the receiving end of the gifts were truly surprised. To track the daylong event, KCUA posted its activities on Twitter with the hashtag #theCUway.
