OKLAHOMA CITY Webb Quinn(5/12/15)--The Oklahoma Credit Union Association honored Sen. Marty Quinn (R-Claremore) with the 2014 Legislator of the Year for exemplary work and dedication to the state of Oklahoma (Leaguer May 11). “The men and women serving in our state legislature are public servants in the truest sense of the word,” said Oklahoma Credit Union Association President Nate Webb. “Every day they face tough decisions that have a lasting impact on their constituents and the state as a whole. TRENTON, N.J. (5/12/15)--The New Jersey Assembly Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee last week unanimously approved prize-linked savings account legislation supported by the New Jersey Credit Union League (Daily Exchange May 11). A-3868 would authorize New Jersey credit unions, banks and savings banks to conduct promotions in which a minimum deposit in an institution-determined amount qualifies the depositor for a chance to win prizes.The bill also clarifies that a savings promotion conducted as a result of the bill's provisions does not constitute unlawful gambling under the laws of the state and is not subject to any laws concerning legalized games of chance presently in statute.
