SACRAMENTO, Calif. (6/1/15)--To bolster the resources available to credit unions in terms of protecting themselves from cyberattacks, the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues recently agreed to a partnership with Vero, a provider of identity theft and data breach protection and recovery services for the credit union industry.
The partnership allows credit unions in those states to protect their institutions from data breach events. It also provides a free identity theft solution with restoration services for employees and board members.
Further, the monthly costs for credit unions to handle data breach events and offer identity theft solutions to members will be minimized because of the member loyalty the improved security will create.
“We are committed to assisting California and Nevada credit unions and their members combat the growing threats of data breaches and identity fraud,” said Tonja Wheatley, leagues vice president of credit union solutions/membership. “Vero’s expertise with its identity recovery services as well as its focus on credit union industry solutions makes the company a great fit with our member credit unions.”
Through the partnership with Vero, leagues’ staff also will be able to use the organization’s IDProSelect, which helps guard credit union members from any form of identity theft or fraud events, including medical, financial, tax, credit card and Social Security fraud.
