MANCHESTER, N.H. (6/26/15)--The Legacy Campaign to expand and renovate America’s Credit Union Museum has reached nearly 60% of its $3.3 million capital campaign goal.
Six recent gifts and pledges totaling more than $227,000 spurred the growth. Recent supporters include Northeast CU, Portsmouth, N.H.; Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester, N.H.; the Ohio Credit Union League; Jeanne D’Arc CU, Lowell, Mass.; New Hampshire FCU, Concord, N.H; and Triangle CU, Nashua, N.H.
The museum, which is located on the site where America's first credit union opened in 1908, tells the story of the credit union movement’s beginning and growth over the past 100 years.
In February, CUNA pledged $1 million would fund what will be known as the CUNA Research Center. The center will be housed next door to the museum and create a virtual experience that will provide all visitors--credit unions, consumers, media, lawmakers, regulators and others--the ability to delve into the history of credit unions.
