DENVER (7/9/15)--Grassroots advocacy is essential to the credit union movement, as policymakers and regulators at both the state and federal levels have the ability to alter the regulatory landscape--sometimes in what feels like the blink of an eye.
To illustrate how credit unions can protect and support their interests by activating members through a world-class grassroots advocacy campaign, CUNA will present the Grassroots Advocacy breakout session at next week’s America’s Credit Union Conference and World Credit Union Conference in Denver.
The conference is hosted by CUNA and the World Council of Credit Unions.
“This session will give attendees insight into reaching lawmakers through their members, demonstrating the power of numbers,” said CUNA Chief Political Officer Richard Gose, who will be one of the session’s speakers. “Drawing from several of the most successful grassroots advocacy programs in the movement, attendees will gain a clear understanding of what a world-class grassroots advocacy program looks like.”
During the session, attendees will:
Participants also will hear from Chris White, vice president of government relations for Credit Union Central of Canada.
