SAN FRANCISCO (7/22/15)--San Francisco FCU last week hosted several delegates from the National Credit Union Federation of Korea (NACUFOK) and Singapore National Co-Operative Federation (SNCF).
The groups were in the United States attending World Credit Union Conference and America’s Credit Union Conference co-hosted by CUNA and the World Council of Credit Unions.
“We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to host members from the credit union industry from all over the globe in a culture and industry exchange,” said San Francisco FCU President/CEO Steven Stapp. “We gain so much insight from these visits, and we hope they enjoyed visiting us in San Francisco.”
Three delegates from the NACUFOK visited San Francisco FCU’s main branch on Golden Gate Avenue on July 7. Chul-Sang Moon, NACUFOK president/chair; Dowon Kim, assistant to chair; and Boaz Heejoon Park, international relations officer, spent the day at the credit union touring the branch, meeting with San Francisco FCU’s leadership team, and watching a demonstration by the Korean Martial Arts Center of San Francisco.
Also in attendance were Diana Dykstra, president/CEO of the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues, who gave an update on the leagues, as well as San Francisco FCU board member Carol Sam.
On July 17, 18 delegates from SNCF visited San Francisco FCU and enjoyed a performance by acoustic/classical guitarist Scott Feichter of the San Francisco Community Music Center. A representative of the Singapore Consulate of San Francisco, Christopher Cheung, also joined the meeting, along with Sam and the credit union’s strategic leadership team.
