BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (8/10/15)--The League of Southeastern Credit Unions has joined the Business Council of Alabama (BCA).
LSCU’s membership is the product of a July meeting between Patrick La Pine, LSCU president/CEO, and Billy Canary, BCA president, during which they discussed the LSCU’s potential membership and possible involvement in the leadership of the organization (eSignal Daily Aug. 7).
LSCU will have membership on several of the BCA’s key committees, including the governmental affairs, tax and policy and the federal affairs committees. Additionally, the BCA is exploring a potential board seat for the league this fall.
Since its founding in 1985, with the merger of the Alabama Chamber of Commerce and the Associated Industries of Alabama, the BCA has worked to improve Alabama’s business climate.
BCA represents nearly 750,000 of a million working Alabamians through its member companies, and 124 chambers of commerce across Alabama. BCA is also partnered with the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama.
