GYDNIA, Poland (8/10/15)--A division of National Association of Cooperative and Savings Credit Unions (NACSCU), Poland’s credit union trade association, recently honored the World Council of Credit unions for its longstanding cooperation and support in building the country’s credit unions.
World Council received the Phoenix Award from the Cooperative Research Institute, which is part of NACSCU, during Poland’s National Credit Union Conference.
"We are proud to accept this prestigious award from the Polish credit union system," said Brian Branch, World Council president/CEO. "It has been an honor to work with our Polish member organization in providing national legal advocacy support."
"The Cooperative Research Institute, NACSCU and all credit unions operating in Poland are greatly honored to have the opportunity to reward World Council for the friendship and support they have provided to Poland's credit unions," said Grzegorz Bierecki, former World Council chair and current Stefczyk CU chair.
The Polish credit union system currently has 52 credit unions serving 2.2 million members.
