CCUA seeks member participation for 'Better Values' campaign

August 11, 2015

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. (8/11/15)--In the third quarter, the Cooperative Credit Union Association will launch a consumer awareness campaign designed to educate the public and promote the distinct values associated with credit unions and their way of providing financial services.

The campaign will be conducted under the banner “Better Values. Better Banking.” and will demonstrate how credit union values and operational principles make for a better banking experience.

“The most effective and impressive way to communicate the experience that defines credit union banking is to hear directly from consumers who have been helped by their credit union,” said Walter Laskos, CCUA senior vice president of strategic communications. “No advertisement can be more impactful than hearing a consumer tell it as it is, in his or her own words.

To ensure that consumers hear the most impressive and moving stories, the CCUA is asking its member credit unions to nominate two or three of their members who would be willing to share their personal stories and appear in campaign testimonial videos and even TV and radio commercials.

Credit unions are encouraged to email Laskos with their nominations. Those nominated should be comfortable appearing on camera willing to participate in a 20- to 30-minute on-camera interview. Recording sessions will take place at a location and time that's mutually convenient for the members and the production crew.
