MADISON, Wis. (8/12/15)--Two CUNA Councils have reached membership milestones.
The CUNA Lending Council has reached 1,300 members--the second-largest membership of the six CUNA Councils.
“The Lending Council continues to grow not only because members appreciate the value of an organization devoted to learning and sharing with peers, but because the lending business is becoming increasingly challenging every year,” said Jason Osterhage, Lending Council executive committee chair and senior vice president of lending at Alliant CU, Chicago.
The CUNA Technology Council has reached 800 members, a result of several years of impressive growth and a collective commitment to striving for excellence in the credit union industry.
“The Technology Council’s remarkable growth signifies how much our membership values being part of a peer-led, industry-focused and discipline-focused organization,” said Belinda Caillouet, Technology Council executive committee chair and chief operating officer/chief information officer of STCU, Liberty Lake, Wash. “The council is a great source of knowledge, education, collaboration, and innovation.”
CUNA Councils launched the ALL In campaign this summer, encouraging credit unions to have members in each of the six Councils. Credit unions who are, or become, “ALL In” by Aug. 21 are entered to win a CUNA prize pack worth more than $11,000. The goal was to increase the number of credit unions that are ALL In by 20%. With just over a week to go, CUNA already has increased that figure by 34%.
The campaign has a “pay it forward” aspect: when credit unions tweet selfies with their council members using the hashtag #ALLInCouncils, a donation of $6 will be made to the National Credit Union Foundation, up to $5,000 total.
