WASHINGTON (9/22/15)--This week’s papal visit to Washington, D.C., along with last week’s observance of Yom Kippur means an abbreviated Congressional session, but CUNA will be monitoring a number of actions in Capitol Hill this week.
In addition, the U.S. House Financial Services Committee is likely to hold a markup next week. CUNA Chief Advocacy Officer Ryan Donovan said he would not be surprised if the bills marked up included the National Credit Union Administration Budget Transparency Act (H.R. 2287) and the Preserving Capital Access and Mortgage Liquidity Act (H.R. 2473).
H.R. 2287 would require the NCUA to open its budget process to public comment, and H.R. 2473 would provide credit unions parity with comparable size banks when it comes to joining the Federal Home Loan Bank program.
