SALT LAKE CITY (10/14/15)--More than 120 credit unions will mark International Credit Union Day by raising funds for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals through their participation in “Shop for Miracles.”
During the one-day “Shop for Miracles” event, each time a credit union member uses a credit union-issued credit or debit card, the participating credit union donates 25 cents or a different pre-determined amount to its local CMN Hospital.
The funds raised will support health care services, critical treatments, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care for sick children nationwide.
Throughout the event, CMN Hospitals will post updates about Shop for Miracles to its more than 300,000 Facebook followers.
“Shop for Miracles has quickly become our most successful Credit Unions for Kids campaign of the year,” Joe Dearborn, CMN Hospitals senior director, told News Now. He noted he is sharing “this amazing example of credit unions supporting their community with CMN Hospitals’ 300,000 Facebook followers as well as through our other social media.”
In 2014, more than 100 credit unions participated in the event, raising roughly $450,000 in addition to $50,000 in matching funds provided by CO-OP Financial Services. Credit unions can register at www.cu4kids.org/shopformiracles.
