MADISON, Wis., and WASHINGTON (10/30/15)--Nominations are being accepted for eight open director positions on CUNA’s board of directors.
The deadline for nominations and seconds is Dec. 4. Voting will begin Dec. 9 and close Jan. 15. Nomination information can be found on the CUNA website.
The positions up for election are:
District 1--Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands:
District 2--Delaware, District of Columbia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia:
District 3--Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee:
District 4--Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin:
District 5--Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wyoming:
District 6--Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, American Samoa, Guam, Johnston Atoll, Midway Atoll, Northern Mariana Islands, Palmyra Atoll and Wake Atoll:
Each nominee must be an employee or a voting board member of the nominating credit union, with the nomination seconded in writing by at least two other credit unions from the same district and class.
Nominees to be elected by leagues must be a league president and be nominated in writing by that league, with the nomination seconded in writing by at least one other league from the district.
No more than two of the voting CUNA directors shall be from members located in any one state. There are currently two CUNA directors serving from California; therefore, nominations for District 6, Class A, and District 6, Class D, cannot be accepted from individuals from California.
Directors elected will take office upon the adjournment of CUNA's Annual General Meeting in Washington, D.C., Feb. 22, during the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference.
