MONTPELIER, Vt. (11/5/15)--Vermont credit unions were well represented at the first Green Real Estate Symposium, held Oct. 29 in Fairlee, Vt.
Vermont State Employees CU, Montpelier, was the lead sponsor for the event, which was presented by the Vermont Green Home Alliance (VGHA) in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy, Vermont Public Service Department, New Hampshire Office of Energy and Planning, New Hampshire Electric and Gas Utilities, GDS Associates and the Northern New England Real Estate Network (Newslines Express Oct. 30).
Other credit unions with representatives in attendance included:
Vice President Bryan Kent represented the Association of Vermont Credit Unions (AVCU), which helped promote the event to its member credit unions. Kent served as a moderator for the daylong gathering.
“It was amazing to see 220 attendees at an inaugural event, and it clearly shows that there is tremendous interest in promoting green energy efficiency in Vermont,” Kent said. “AVCU looks forward to continuing our work with the VGHA so that our member credit unions can continue to be the Vermont consumer’s best financial partners for improving the energy efficiency of their homes and helping to protect the environment.”
