LIVONIA, Mich. (11/9/15)--The October winners of the three-month “Share the Love” contest organized by CU Solutions Group were announced last week, and as a result three charities each will receive a donation of $10,000.
The campaign asks credit unions to submit short videos that illustrate the work they do in their communities, and the public votes to pick the best. The credit unions with the most votes in three asset categories each month get to pick a charity to receive a $10,000 donation.
October’s winners and beneficiaries were:
“Creating these videos has raised visibility to the good work we all do as a part of our daily business, and that is a win for credit unions across the country,” said Debbie Smith, president/CEO, Georgia United CU. “In addition to increased awareness, CU Solutions Group and Love My Credit Union Rewards are donating $105,000 to charities, which will be vital in building stronger communities.”
At the end of October, more than 100 credit unions had submitted a video and 103,023 votes had been cast. Votes roll over to subsequent months, but a credit union can only win one monthly prize. However, the credit union with the most votes at the end of the campaign will receive a grand prize of $15,000.
Credit unions have until Dec. 24 to submit a video. November results will be announced at the beginning of December.
