MADISON, Wis. (11/25/15)--Members who wisely use their credit union debit and credit cards this shopping season could see bonus benefits from their credit unions.
From Black Friday through Cyber Monday, Teachers CU will give shoppers who swipe their credit union debit card a chance to win a $500 gift card. The South Bend, Ind.-based credit union will award three prizes daily. University of Kentucky FCU, Lexington, will offer its credit card users triple reward points during the same shopping period.
Point West CU, Portland, Ore., is rewarding its credit card users with more reward points. From Black Friday through the end of the year, members will earn double reward points by using their Point West credit card at participating restaurant and retail locations.
Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Educational Community CU will offer triple reward points on Black Friday and double reward points from Sunday through Dec. 31. Online and in-store purchases are eligible for accrual.
Members who are in the market for loans or certificates of deposit may also find Black Friday deals.
Through Black Friday, Service CU, Portsmouth, N.H., is offering an annual percentage yield (APY) of 10% for a three-month savings certificate with a minimum of $250 and maximum of $1,000. It also is offering 2% off rates for eligible personal loans.
At Premier Members FCU, Boulder, Colo., eligible borrowers will receive an auto loan rate of 2.99% for up to 66 months. Members must apply during the Black Friday through Cyber Monday shopping period.
