FARMERS BRANCH, Texas (12/1/15)--The grants committee for the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation’s Community Investment Fund (CIF) recently approved $39,000 in grants (Leaguer Nov. 30).
The grant funding will be split among 20 organizations that will use the funds for efforts ranging from compliance to strategic planning to professional development. Generally, the CIF program provides funds to credit unions to use in ways that will allow them to better serve members and communities.
“I’m proud to say I work in an environment that thinks of others and helps when possible,” said Renee Hensley, president/CEO, Midwestern State University CU, Wichita Falls, Texas. “I’ve been employed in the credit union movement for over 30 years now and continue to use our motto of 'People Helping People.' That is exactly how I feel about this grant. Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation has always been a great source of help and generosity to credit unions (especially the smaller credit unions).”
