WASHINGTON (12/23/15)--Consumer complaints about money transfers led the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) monthly complaints snapshot for December.
According to the bureau, consumer complaints about money transfers center around the trouble of safely and efficiently sending money, and complaints about being victims of fraud.
As of Dec. 1, the CFPB had handled roughly 5,100 money transfer complaints, which include both domestic and international transfers.

The spotlight also focused on consumer issues in Georgia, which as of Dec. 1, is responsible for 31,300 of the more than 770,100 complaints received by the CFPB since its inception.
