WASHINGTON (2/22/16 UPDATED 11:49 A.M. ET)--Credit unions can leverage their cooperative resources and events--starting with this week’s Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference--to keep up with the ever-changing payments environment, Glen Sarvady, senior payments expert at Best Innovation Group (BIG), wrote in an op-ed piece that appeared in the Credit Union Times this morning.
BIG is a CUNA consulting partner supporting CUNA’s efforts in advocacy, compliance and keeping credit unions informed about the payments environment.
“The 2016 CUNA GAC, bringing nearly 5,000 people to Washington this week, offers several ways for credit union leaders to maintain a firm grasp on the direction of payments,” Sarvady wrote.
Sarvady noted that the conference schedule includes a Tuesday breakout session featuring a panel of payments experts, and generous time to meet with experts in the vendor exhibit hall.
“In all, CUNA GAC serves as a critical resource for credit unions to learn about where we’ve come from, and just where the heck we’re going,” Sarvady wrote. “Between what happened in payments in 2015 and what's on tap for this year, there's a lot to cover.”
