WASHINGTON (2/29/16)--While compliance information can be found in hundreds of pages of regulations from various agencies, compliance professionals often rely on their own experience and knowledge of specific topics to guide their credit union’s efforts. Thanks to the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) Compliance Community, the collective wisdom of hundreds of compliance experts is a few clicks away.
CUNA’s Compliance Community is an easy-to-use communications platform for credit union compliance professionals, fostering networking and discussion; and putting CUNA’s CompBlog and other compliance resources with a few mouse clicks.
CUNA Compliance Community was designed with input from and tested by credit union compliance professionals.
The community’s discussion board allows individuals to create a post and get answers from fellow Compliance Community members. As of today, there are roughly 2,000 total posts as part of nearly 700 different discussion threads.
A few examples of questions that have evolved into lively discussions on the Compliance Community boards include:
The Compliance Community also features a file share library of policies and procedures, A searchable directory of compliance community members to facilitate networking and user designations for achievements and areas of expertise.
Users can choose from several methods of delivery for CompBlog, discussion threads and other information, which can be received via email or within the community portal itself.
Jared Ihrig, CUNA’s chief compliance officer, spoke to CU Broadcast during last week’s CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference about the Compliance Community, as well as his thoughts on important compliance issues in 2016 and beyond.
