WASHINGTON (3/28/16)--Credit Union Miracle Day will present a $505,000 donation to Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals on April 3--the date of two premier race events, the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run and the Credit Union SacTown Run.
Credit Union Miracle Day, with its collaboration of more than 100 credit unions, business partners and credit union service organizations, has donated more than $7.5 million to CMN Hospitals nationwide since 2002.
More than 200 members of Congress, representing 45 states, American Samoa, the District of Columbia and Guam, have signed on to be honorary race chairs of the events.
The 44th running of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run will take place April 3. The route takes runners past iconic memorials in the nation’s capital.
Congressional FCU, Washington, D.C., and U.S. Senate FCU, Alexandria, Va., sponsor the annual Cherry Blossom Capitol Hill Competition, which is a race within the larger run. Nearly 800 congressional staffers from House and Senate offices have formed teams to compete for the Capitol Hill Cup.
On the same day on the West Coast, the Sixth Annual Credit Union SacTown Run will start at the State Capitol in Sacramento, Calif. More than 1,500 participants are expected to participate in a 10-mile or 5K race, or the UC Davis Children’s Hospital Miracle Mile fun run and fitness walk.
Credit Union Freedom Ten Mile Runs are sister races held in Wiesbaden, Germany, and Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
