New firm uses Uber model for CU consultancy

April 6, 2016

MIAMI (4/6/16)--A new financial institution consultancy group aims to match financial industry experts with credit unions, specific to credit unions’ needs and price point.

With a stable of credit union and community bank technology and financial experts, Edge Consultancy LLC focuses on community-based financial institutions.

“We created Edge because we saw a real need for community banks and credit unions to have access to the collective wisdom of former C-level financial industry executives, in order to help find solutions to the complex challenges facing community-based financial institutions today,” said Kirk Kordeleski, Edge CEO and former president/CEO of Bethpage (N.Y.) FCU.

Similar to the Uber model, Edge will source former C-level executives and veterans from the credit union and community bank sectors and affordably match their specific skill sets with the consulting needs of the financial institution.

Edge’s experts can address merger and acquisition strategy, succession planning, business continuity processes, compliance, operational efficiencies and vendor risk management, among other topics.

Of the current dozen consultants, credit union specialists include Juli Anne Callis, former president/CEO of National Institutes of Health FCU, Rockville, Md.; Jeff Meyer, CEO, Dakota West CU, Watford City, N.D.; and Steve Post, former president/CEO of Vermont State Employees CU, Montpelier, Vt.
