CUNA has launched the CUNA Compliance Professional Awards, celebrating outstanding achievements in the field of credit union compliance. Nominations for Compliance Champion of the Year Award and the Compliance Impact Award are due July 1.
“Compliance is more than a series of requirements to meet; it’s a complex craft that requires tremendous skill,” said Jared Ihrig, CUNA chief compliance officer. “We look forward to recognizing compliance professionals who have used their talents to balance their credit union’s obligations to regulators with its obligation to fulfill members’ financial needs, and to recognize credit unions who have demonstrated how compliance efforts can have a meaningful impact on reducing risk.”
The Compliance Champion of the Year Award recognizes an individual who best demonstrates achievement and excellence in compliance management including leadership and contribution to the industry. Nominees must work for a CUNA-affiliated credit union and be a member of the CUNA Compliance Community.
The Compliance Impact Award recognizes a credit union whose compliance efforts have had a direct impact on minimizing or eliminating reputational, financial or operations loss within their credit union or community. Nominees must be CUNA affiliates and must apply based on a specific compliance event that has occurred in the last three years.
Each award will be presented in three different asset categories: less than $100 million, $101 million-$500 million and more than $500 million. One first-place winner for each award will be presented live at CUNA Regulatory Compliance School, Sept. 25-30, in Tempe, Ariz.
In addition to complimentary registration, travel and hotel for CUNA Regulatory Compliance School. All runner-ups in each category will also receive an award and their profile in Credit Union Magazine.
