The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues have launched a disaster relief webpage to keep all credit union leaders and others informed about their colleagues affected by catastrophic wildfires that continue to plague Northern California. The website offers resources and support for those who are impacted.
The website also provides an update section with the latest news about local credit unions and their employees.
Grants are available for credit union employees and board members to assist with immediate disaster-relief needs that may result from being evacuated.
Donations can be made through CUAid, the National Credit Union Foundation’s nationwide support network, which directly supports credit union staff and members during national disasters.
Redwood CU (RCU), Santa Rosa, Calif., in partnership with RCU Community Fund, The Press Democrat and State Sen. Mike McGuire, is now accepting financial donations to aid relief efforts and assist victims of the 2017 North Bay fires. One-hundred percent of donations will go directly to support those affected by the fires.
Community First CU, Ukiah, Calif., in partnership with North Coast Opportunities, Inc., is accepting tax-deductible donations at any of its branches or online. As with the credit union’s previous relief efforts, 100% of donations will go to those affected.
