Lending Outlook
Even as more observers voice concern over the market outlook, CUNA economists still see a rosy future for lending opportunities. While the overall rate of growth might slow a bit from the double-digit performance of the past four years, expect four factors to drive continued success in 2018.

Autonomy & the Auto Loan
Some say autonomous technology could dramatically alter American’s love affair with their vehicles, while others believe a decline in vehicle ownership is overstated. Regardless of who’s right, credit union leaders are paying attention, because auto loans comprise nearly 35% of credit unions’ loan portfolios.

From CUs to Capitol Hill
Credit unions are fortunate to count the majority of the 115th Congress as supporters. And several of those legislators know firsthand the ins and outs of member-owned financial cooperatives, either as former employees or volunteers.
