Discussions about innovative lending programs and strategies dominated Monday's agenda at the CUNA Lending Council Conference. And the day ended with an emotional awards program.
Rex Johnson, the former Baxter Credit Union CEO who has instructed thousands of credit union professionals over the past two decades through Lending Solutions Consulting and CUNA schools, accepted the Phil Greer Lifetime Achievement Award.
Johnson thanked his many friends in the credit union movement for inspiring him as he faces Alzheimer’s disease.
“Money’s not the big thing. People are the big thing. I’ve never had more fun than I’ve had with y’all,” Johnson says.
