CUNA Chief Advocacy Officer Ryan Donovan delved into CUNA’s 2018 advocacy agenda during an interview this week with CU Broadcast. In the nearly 11-minute interview, Donovan outlines why CUNA is building off 2017’s advocacy wins and pushing for more in 2018.
“We’re operating a new advocacy agenda, we want to be fierce and bold. And really, this comes from our board and from credit unions. What they’ve told us is ‘Go out there an revolutionize the operating environment for credit unions,’” Donovan said. “And that’s exactly what we want to do.”
Donovan shared CUNA’s four pillars for 2018: to reduce regulatory burden, expand and protect credit union powers, enhance payment security and protect the credit union tax status.
“What makes this year‘s agenda different is the fact that we’re working even closer with our league partners, and we’ve incorporated into each of these pillars, important state-level national advocacy goals,” he said.
