CUNA engaged with fintech hearing, SOTU this week

January 29, 2018

CUNA will be engaged with a number of activities on both sides of Capitol Hill this week, including President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union Address, and several hearings. CUNA will be watching Trump’s address closely, and hopes to see the President talk about regulatory relief and what it means for credit unions.

Hearings CUNA is engaged with this week include:

  • Tuesday, 10 a.m. (ET): Senate Banking Committee hearing, "The Financial Stability Oversight Council Annual Report to Congress;”
     
  • Tuesday, 10 a.m. (ET): House Financial Services subcommittee on financial institutions and general government hearing, “Examining Opportunities and Challenges in the Financial Technology (“Fintech”) Marketplace;”
     
  • Tuesday, 2 p.m. (ET): House Financial Services subcommittee on oversight and investigations hearing, “Following the Money: How Human Traffickers Exploit U.S. Financial Markets;” and
     
  • Tuesday, 2 p.m. (ET): House Ways and Means subcommittee on oversight hearing, “Member Day Hearing on Legislation to Improve Tax Administration.”
