CUNA Statement on CFPB Structure

January 31, 2018

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CONTACT: Lauren Williams – CUNA Communications; (202) 626-7642; lwilliams@cuna.coop

Washington, D.C. (January 31, 2018) Credit Union National Association President/CEO Jim Nussle released a statement following a U.S. appeals court ruling on PHH Corp. v. CFPB.

“CUNA maintains that the best leadership structure for the CFPB is a multi-member commission, as recent leadership disputes have shown. Financial institutions and consumers need certainty at the CFPB. A leadership commission would have avoided a lot of legal wrangling and provided certainty at an agency that has major influence over the financial services marketplace.”
