Small credit union leaders from across the country will gather for CUNA’s annual Small Credit Union Roundtable Sunday at the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference.

At the event, nearly 200 small credit unions will share their best loan promotion ideas with their peers, discuss cybersecurity best practices, and learn how to leverage high-value, low-cost resources, such as grants, loans, and other tools.

The event will be led by CUNA’s new Small Credit Union Advisor, Tom Sakash, who says that this year’s roundtable was entirely crafted by its attendees, who were surveyed prior to GAC about the subjects they wanted to learn more about.

“We’re excited to present on subjects that will be the most relevant to the folks in that room,” Sakash says. “Ultimately, we expect attendees to leave the event with a strong list of actions they can take to strengthen their loan portfolios, boost their bottom lines, and shore up their cybersecurity practices.”

The roundtable kicks off at 1 p.m. on Sunday, the first day of the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference.

Eunice Rogers, president/CEO of $1.5 million asset NRS Community Development Federal Credit Union in Birmingham, Ala., will share her experiences with grants and loans, which have provided significant value to her credit union.

Rob Theriot from TraceSecurity, a CUNA Strategic Services alliance provider, will present the basic steps a small credit union can take to significantly improve its cybersecurity processes.

A full report from the Roundtable, including each of the loan promotion ideas that are shared, will be posted on the CUNA Small Credit Union Community following the conference.
