Lawmakers took to the stage on the last day of the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC), and attendees brought their “A” game for the GAC Giveback event.
National Credit Union Foundation Executive Director Gigi Hyland thanked attendees for helping raise more than $45,000 to provide BizKid$ to all 116 Washington, D.C., public schools, which have more than 48,000 students.
CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle reminded attendees to thank legislators during Hill visits for keeping the credit union tax status intact.
Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.) received a board resolution from CUNA, thanking him for more than 25 years of support of credit unions. Royce is retiring after this year.
Other lawmakers taking the stage were: Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.), and Reps. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.), Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), Frank Lucas (R-Okla.), and Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Mo.).
