CUNA has activated its grassroots advocacy in support of the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act (S. 2155) as Congress returned from its recess Monday. CUNA reached out to nearly 140,000 credit union leaders Monday to use CUNA’s Campaign for Common-Sense Regulation website to contact members of Congress to support the bill.
The bipartisan bill is strongly supported by CUNA, and momentum for House consideration and passage is increasing.
“Grassroots action helped move this bill through the Senate, and it’s going to be even more important as we go all-hands-on-deck to get this bill through the House,” said CUNA Chief Political Officer Richard Gose. “The common-sense provisions in this bill will benefit 110 million credit union members and American consumers as a whole, and that’s what we need to make sure Congress hears.”
Several leagues around the country have teamed with their respective banking organizations to urge members of their Congressional delegation to support the bill.
