Credit union-supported candidates saw success in several states during Tuesday’s primary elections, including in competitive races in Idaho and Pennsylvania.
The seat representing Idaho’s 1st Congressional District will be open in November, as incumbent Raul Labrador (R-Idaho) is running for governor.
Credit union-backed former State Sen. Russ Fulcher won the Republican primary with 58% of the vote, and is favored in November’s election to represent the heavily Republican district.
Fulcher is supported by the Northwest Credit Union Association and the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC), CUNA’s political action committee.
