Washington, DC (June 4, 2018) – Credit Union National Association relocated its Washington, D.C. office from Pennsylvania Avenue to a new development at 99 M Street, SE. The move allows the national trade association to maintain its unique presence as the only credit union trade group with offices in Washington, D.C.

“This move is the next step CUNA’s continued evolution into a more efficient, more effective trade organization and it allows us to continue to work close to the Congressional and federal offices where we advocate every day on behalf of credit unions and their 110 million members,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle. “The new space will allow staff to collaborate in ways that weren’t possible in the previous space, and the long-term cost savings will allow us to continue to make sure our resources are being put to the best use for the credit union system.”

Located in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood, the 22,000 square foot space is on the third floor of Sanska's 99M office building. The new development is steps from both Navy Yard-Ballpark Metrorail entrances and seven blocks from the U.S. Capitol.

“We are pleased to welcome CUNA to 99M and the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood,” said Mark Carroll, executive vice president for Skanska’s development operations in the Greater Washington, D.C., area. “Given the building’s great location close to Capitol Hill, with access to exceptional amenities including the nearby Metro, CUNA staff will flourish in this vibrant location. As a building designed to meet the LEED® Gold standard, 99M also incorporates innovative techniques to reduce water and energy usage and offers efficient floor plates so CUNA can make optimal use of their new and collaborative space.”

CUNA employees, including President/CEO Jim Nussle, will operate in an open, modular environment to encourage collaboration and cross functional performance. Meeting rooms are situated along exterior walls with interior glass partitions to allow sunlight into the space.
