MADISON, Wis., and WASHINGTON (June 11, 2018) – CUNA has announced that 48 credit union volunteers received their Certified Credit Union Volunteer (CCUV) designations through CUNA Volunteer Certification School this past May in San Diego. These newly certified volunteers gained valuable knowledge on several different leadership and board related topics.

“This class was perfect size,” said Amy White, 2018 attendee and Board Member at Kerr County FCU. “It enabled volunteers to interact and bond with each other while learning and exchanging ideas with speakers during and after sessions. The material presented had substance that I can take back and share with our board rooms.”

“These individuals have worked to become knowledgeable leaders for their credit unions,” said Maegan Monson, instructional design manager at Credit Union National Association. “From advocacy to CEO oversight and governance, these new CCUVs will be able to confidently lead their credit unions to sustained success.”

Credit union board of directors and supervisory committee members can earn the CCUV designation in one of two ways, either through self-study Volunteer Certification Program courses or the in-person CUNA Volunteer Certification School, taking place in 2019 from May 6-10 in San Antonio, TX.
