‘Agile’ methodology is the ‘modern way of working’

Credit unions should adopt this project management process, says gameFI’s Matt Davis.

‘Agile’ methodology is the ‘modern way of working’

When Matt Davis rolled out his gameFI platform to engage front-line staff with performance metrics, he had trouble processing feedback from user credit unions.

“Feedback has always been a problem for me,” he says. “I have been guilty of dismissing it.”

But then Davis adopted the Agile methodology, which has been big in the technology industry for years and is now being adopted by more industries as a way to get things done.

The process focuses on adaptive planning, early delivery, and continuous improvement.

Credit unions should adopt this project management process as well, Davis says.

“It is the modern way of working,” Davis says. “Every department should use this.”

Davis, who admits he is not a lover of processes, advises credit union leaders at least give it a try.

“Do it and be skeptical about it,” he says. “Whatever your next project is, just try it, and see how it feels.”

Davis addressed the How To Conference by CU Water Cooler in Madison, Wis.
