Credit Union National Association Invites Advocates to Attend Industry’s Largest Conference

CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference is March 10-14, 2019

MADISON, Wis., and WASHINGTON (September 18, 2018) – More than 5,000 credit union advocates will gather in Washington, D.C. for CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC), March 10-14, 2019. GAC is the credit union industry’s largest event attracting leaders from across the industry to rally around a united cause – to tell legislators how their lawmaking affects credit unions and their more than 110 million members.

Last year, attendees of GAC urged lawmakers to vote yes on Common Sense Regulation bill S.2155, which was shortly followed by the bill being passed in May 2018.

“Credit unions saw great success in Congress this year. Fierce advocacy from our movement has resulted in big legislative wins for credit unions, including the enactment of S. 2155, the bipartisan Common Sense Regulation bill,” said CUNA President and CEO Jim Nussle. “But there’s always more we can do to serve our members and our movement, and the more people lend their time and unite their voices each year at GAC, the stronger our message is to nation’s lawmakers.”

In addition to focused advocacy efforts, CUNA GAC offers keynote speakers and breakout sessions from renowned speakers, the largest exhibit hall of any event in financial services and a wide range of networking opportunities.

Credit union professionals under the age of 35 will again have the opportunity to attend CUNA GAC on scholarship facilitated by The Cooperative Trust.

To learn more and register for the conference, please visit cuna.org/gac.

Media wishing to attend GAC must complete a press pass request form available here.
