America’s credit unions were on full display last weekend at the National Cooperative Business Association’s (NCBA) Co-op Festival on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Credit union volunteers manned a tent during the festival that featured a money machine for visitors to step inside and see how much play money they could grab.
Volunteers from CUNA joined volunteers from local leagues and credit unions to staff the tent Saturday and Sunday. In addition to the money machine, the tent featured a wheel for visitors to spin for prizes.
CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle was interviewed by Great Day Washington Friday morning. See video of the interview and the booth below.
CUNA is a member of the NCBA, and CUNA Chief Operating Officer Jill Tomalin is a board member. CUNA Senior Economist Jordan van Rijn participated in a panel discussion last week during NBCA’s IMPACT Conference.
The festival is designed to bring together cooperatives of all kinds to celebrate what unites them and showcase the variety and quality of cooperative services available to them. In addition to credit unions, other cooperatives featured included REI, Cabot Creamery, Nationwide, Organic Valley and Ocean Spray.
We had an amazing day at @NCBACLUSA #CoopFest! Our booth was packed all day with consumers interested to learn more about America’s Credit Unions. And our money machine was a hit! Can’t wait for tomorrow. See you at 11am! pic.twitter.com/o3pGyfZxLp— CUNA (@CUNA) October 7, 2018
