CUNA Chief Economist Mike Schenk will present at the NCUA’s budget briefing Wednesday at NCUA’s Alexandria headquarters. The briefing is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. (ET) and will be streamed live on NCUA.gov.
NCUA is required by law to conduct annual public budget breifings and accept public comment due to CUNA’s advocacy efforts. These requirements are part of the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act (S. 2155), which was passed in May. NCUA has voluntarily conducted similar briefings the last few years.
NCUA will be accepting comments on the proposed budget through Oct. 26. The NCUA board is expected to vote on the final budget at its Nov. 15 meeting.
