Greg Michlig, CUNA’s deputy chief engagement officer, and Susan Toalson, CUNA vice president, appeared recently on CUBroadcast to talk about credit unions’ strong momentum going into 2019, and how CUNA is poised to take advantage of the momentum. Michlig and Toalson appeared were interviewed during this year’s Northwest Credit Union Association’s MAXX Conference in Tacoma, Wash.
Michlig said credit union success in 2018 has brought some strong positive momentum for the credit union industry, and CUNA is positioning itself, with its Creating Awareness Initiative and advocacy in the 2018 mid-terms for example, to bring further success to the movement in 2019.
He also noted that the 2019 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference is already off to its fastest start ever in terms of registrations, and that CUNA and leagues will look to further enhance their advocacy coordination moving forward.
Toalson discussed the research that led to the creation of the initiative, and outlined its major goals and approaches to raise awareness of credit unions nationally.
She also provides a sneak peak of the Open Your Eyes campaign launch scheduled for early 2019, including strategies to engage consumers at all levels and connecting local marketing efforts to regional and national creative media buys.
